IMPORTANT: Retiring Old & Non-Responsive Themes

Out with the old and in with the new! We're excited to get a fresh batch of responsive themes out. But in order to make room for the new and exciting, we will be retiring some old themes and all non-responsive themes. This will allow us to focus Themify's framework on responsive features and maintain code consistency throughout all themes.

Members with an active membership for any of the retired themes can be compensated for a theme exchange (i.e. one theme for another theme). The exchanged themes include one year of access from the exchange date (members with a lifetime term for any retired themes will also receive one year access as we no longer offer lifetime terms for single themes). All members have up until February 28, 2017 to request theme exchanges. To request a theme exchange, please contact us.

Themify will completely discontinue the retired themes after February 28, 2017. No file downloads or support will be available after that.

Here is the list of the retired themes:

  • Bloggie
  • Sidepane
  • Blogfolio
  • Wigi
  • Koi
  • Edmin
  • Photobox
  • Folo
  • Newsy
  • Rezo
  • Slide
  • Shopo

I have the lifetime membership, so I’m not concerned about replacing themes. But, I really like koi and use it on and old blog that does not get much traffic. I assume that henceforth these non responsive themes can be deemed to be insecure as they will no longer be supported?

    Thanks

The non-responsive themes that we are retiring have served us well. Retiring them will allow us to focus on responsive features in our framework and discontinue the old legacy code as well. We can help you to transit to another theme. Feel free to contact us or post on our forum.

Shopdock isn’t being retired but today suddenly the nav bar and all the parts of it that were red (you can change skin color) have vanished as well as the links!

        What do I do?

    Hello,

    isn’t Shopo responsive already?
It would be useful if you suggested an alternative theme for each retired one, and develop new themes for specific purposes (such as Shopo and Rezo). Thank you!

      Hi Gabriele,

Shopo and Slide both are responsive themes, however, their usage is very low. You can replace Shopo with Minshop as they are similar design structure. Also, we are going to have a multi-purpose WooCommerce theme coming soon. You can wait for the new theme release to do the exchange.

Rezo can be replaced with Ultra theme using the Restaurant skin (https://themify.org/ultra-restaurant/).

We believe this a-theme-for-a-theme exchange program will benefit users who can get a fresher theme.

I am a lifetime member. Will I automatically have full access to all the new themes?

      Hi Gary,

Yes, the Lifetime Master Club gives you full access to all existing and new themes, plugins, addons, and mockup files.

I like Photobox very much but I think IT’s okay for me to say goodbye to it and welcome other new awesome themes.

After retiring these will we finally be able to upgrade Themify without it crashing and locking us out of a browser for several days? The “upgrade” of your themes has become very bad.

Never had a problem updating, make a backup before updating. You should make backups anyway

What is a comparable theme for Newsy?

I didn’t realize Newsy was on the out. I had google to find that out. Isn’t there some other way of letting your customers to find out. I take it this means no documentation and support. I sent an email request about this same issue but I didn’t know Newsy had been taken off the list.

Now what do you recommend? Does this mean no more upgrades? And I still am interested in Post Type Builder.

:And have I missed some deadline!

      Hello,

We actually announced this via our newsletter, social channel, and our promo bar on our site for 2 weeks. With that said, if you’re not following us on our social channels or signed up on our newsletter we highly recommend you to do so, so that you won’t miss any of announcements like this :)

With regards to your query, what we can do is switch the Newsy theme to another theme of your choice. You can send us an email here – https://themify.me/contact and we’ll do this for you. In addition, we can provide some general support for the Newsy theme as well via our forum page here – https://themify.me/forum. However, with regards to updates we will not be releasing any further updates for this theme any longer.

      Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the reply. I will subscribe in the future. I am not very technical and self taught. I would like to give Reponz a try. When I do this how much will I lose or have to do over.

      Hello,

Unfortunately, Shopo was not a responsive theme. It was developed during the early stages when we just started where we didn’t have responsive themes yet. We did release some new themes that have you might like. For example Shoppe (https://themify.me/themes/shoppe) and for a Restaurant theme design we recommend using our Ultra Restaurant Skin (https://themify.org/ultra-restaurant/)

Unfortunately, it has been discontinued. We no longer updating and maintaining the retired themes. If you own an Edmin theme, we can exchange it to a modern theme. Please contact us to do the exchange: https://themify.me/contact.
