Introduction
Hello, my name is Abdulla Saad KP. If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be building websites for fashion brands, recruitment platforms, and packaged food companies — all in the same week — I probably would’ve laughed.
Back then, I was just a graphic designer with a deep love for visuals. I could spend hours perfecting a poster, a brand logo, or an Instagram layout. But something kept tugging at me — a question: What happens to a design when it’s not just looked at, but used?
That curiosity pulled me into the world of UI/UX. I started experimenting, mixing aesthetics with functionality, and soon I was building my very first website. I still remember the thrill — seeing my design come alive, clickable, scrollable, interactive. In that moment, I knew this wasn’t just another skill. This was my medium.
Fast forward a few years, and I’m now the co-founder of Opentutor Design School LLP, founder and CEO of Cleffon Design Studio, and a web designer at Fenix Advertising. My days are filled with crafting websites for businesses, institutions, and creative brands — turning ideas into digital experiences people actually enjoy using.
The Struggle Before Themify
In the early days, my design process was… let’s call it “chaotically creative.” I’d jump between WordPress themes, dabble in raw HTML/CSS, and wrestle with plugins just to make a simple layout work.
Some themes were too rigid, locking me into layouts that felt like wearing shoes two sizes too small. Others were overly complex, demanding hours of coding for even the tiniest change.
It worked — but at the cost of my time, energy, and sometimes my sanity. Project timelines stretched longer than I wanted. Taking on multiple clients became a risky balancing act. I needed a better way — something that gave me both creative freedom and efficiency.
Discovering Themify
One day, while swapping workflow tips with a fellow designer, they mentioned something called Themify. “It’s drag-and-drop, but powerful,” they said. I was skeptical. I’d heard that promise before.
But the first time I opened the Themify Builder, I got it. It wasn’t just easy — it was intuitive. I could throw together a layout in minutes, tweak it in real time with a client watching over my shoulder, and still dive into custom CSS whenever I wanted that extra polish.
My Go-To Themes
Over time, Themify has become the backbone of my workflow.
- Ultra is my all-time favorite — versatile, responsive, and perfect for almost anything.
- Shoppe is my go-to for product-heavy brands.
- Corporate works like a charm for B2B clients.
No matter the industry — whether I’m building a minimal recruitment platform or a colorful food product site — each theme adapts beautifully to the brand’s personality.
A Few Tricks I’ve Learned
One of my favorite hacks? Saving custom-designed sections as reusable modules. It’s a lifesaver for keeping branding consistent without rebuilding elements from scratch.
I also like mixing Themify’s layout parts with dynamic content — so things like headers, footers, or promo banners update automatically.
My typical project flow now looks like this:
- Wireframing in Figma — defining structure, colors, typography.
- Base Build in Themify — setting up global styling.
- Modular Design — creating reusable hero banners, CTA blocks, and product sections.
- Fine-Tuning UX — mobile optimization, padding, margins, and interactivity.
- Performance Tweaks — using Themify’s optimization tools plus caching plugins for speed.
Why I Recommend It
For me, Themify is the sweet spot — creative freedom without chaos. It doesn’t force me into a box, but it also doesn’t slow me down. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, it adapts to you.
Looking Ahead
As I continue building websites for education, health, and product-based businesses — and as I train the next generation of designers at Opentutor Design School — Themify will remain a core part of my toolkit.
It’s not just about making websites faster. It’s about making them better, without compromise. And for me, that’s everything.
