Free stock photos can get a bad rap for being anywhere from cheesy to zany. However, the number of free AND beautiful stock photography sites are growing in number.

So, we’ve done the research and compiled a list of the best and most beautiful free stock photo sites for you all. We’ve crossed out anything that heavily advertised paid stock photos alternatives, and also whittled our choices based on our user experience (handy search features, scrolling, user interface, etc.).

Looking for consistency in photo aesthetic and style? Unsplash boasts beautifully edited images with a stock of over 300,000 high-resolution photos.

If sheer volume (1.6 million pictures) and high quality is your thing, this german-created website takes the cake. Beware of some highly-edited photos you’ll have to skip over though.

3. Burst

Oftentimes you will find the same free stock photos used by several different sites. This smaller site is a great option for those looking for something a little more creative and personal, and seems like a great tool for lifestyle bloggers or millenials.

4. Pexels

If you are particular about having unique or slightly whacky options, Pexels seems to deliver a collection of images with a high contrast. Great selection of corporate, food, and seasonal photos – you will have to wade through a few odd balls here and there.

5. Reshot

Unique and fresh stock photos from budding photographers, you’ll get a curated selection from the viewpoint of a younger generation.

I use Unsplash and Pexels a lot. For more realistic style, I also use https://photos.icons8.com/ Especially for commercials or to make my own collages.

Nice List! This will be helpful for bloggers who are looking for high quality photos. Pixabay is one of my favorite sites for free stock images. It easy to use, and plenty of resources to choose from, and very business-friendly images.
