I would to see a video on how to make a custom header and footer, ideally through a child theme, hook content or plugin which might be more useful.

Headers I believe are the biggest part of a website that are consistent throughout the site but should be unique and different from website to website without being overly reliant on the out of the box designs offered.

The header design is part of the theme element and this is actually dependent on the theme that you’re using. If you’re using our Ultra theme ( you can recreate a similar header layout design :)

Themify looks like an awesome product – I plan on reading up a little more to figure out how best to integrate it into my workflow, before investing with a purchase.

    Nice tut video!

+1 on Ian Gordon’s suggestion of a video explaining “hook content or plugin” :-)

I never really learned to use hooks, so it would be nice to have a good video explanation on that subject :-)

How do you start out with nothing like you did in the video?

Currently, I have ultra installed, but when i create a page turn on the builder it keeps a lot of things loaded on the page when really I want a blank canvas. Any guidance would be appreciated.

      Hi Cameron,

We can definitely help you with this. I’ve outlined how to do this below:

      1. Create a new page
      2. Scroll down to the Themify Custom panel
      3. On the “Page Options” tab, select the following options – No Sidebar, Fullwidth Content, and Hide Page Title (screenshot –
      4. Then click on the “Page Appearance” tab, and select the following options – No header and footer design (screenshot –

      Hope that helps :)
