Some of you might heard about the security flaw within XxxXxxxx, a PHP script that dynamically generates image thumbnails on the fly. XxxXxxxx is widely used in many themes as well as our themes. Shortly after the security flaw was found, Mark Maunder released a secure version called XxxxXxxxx. We've updated our framework with XxxxXxxxx. For security concern, we highly recommend everyone to upgrade with the latest version. To upgrade the theme/framework, download the latest theme zip from our server and replace the "themify" folder and any updated files (you can view the changelogs here). If you just want to upgrade the affected XxxXxxxx file, download a copy of XxxxXxxxx and replace the img.php file in the "themify" folder with XxxxXxxxx. Here is a tutorial on how to upgrade theme. Along with the XxxxXxxxx update, we also added the post image in RSS feeds. Now you have an option to whether include the post image in the RSS feeds.

Themes Updated With Translation Support
Many of you had requested a translation feature in our themes. Today we are happy to announce that the following themes have been localized: Folo, Funki, Minblr, Newsy, Wumblr, Rezo, Photobox, Bizco, ThemeMin, and Blogfolio. This means the themes now include a .po (Portable Object) file which is used for translation. It allows you to translate the theme into any language without editing the template files. Read this documentation to learn how to translate the theme into your language using the .po file with Poedit. We are localizing the rest of our themes and they should be ready soon.
Auto Upgrading: Coming Soon
In our first framework update we added support for image handling, fixed folder and file structures, and cleaned up some of our code. We did a silent update to the framework, 1.0.2, and we'd like to share what was added and what's coming up in the future.
1.0.2
We silently released an upgrade to the framework about a week ago that included some cool features:
-
Shortcodes
We introduced WordPress shortcodes into our latest theme Bizco and wanted to include this functionality to all our themes by packing it into the core.
-
Open JS
We had been minifying the frameworks core Javascript file for speed and to hide a bit of it's awesome functionality. We wanted to open this up to our users and now provide an "un-minified" version of this file.
-
New Helper Functions
themify_get and themify_check are two new helper functions introduced in 1.0.2. Each has it's own purpose to help you get or check variables from either custom fields or the Themify frameworks stored settings.
1.0.3
The next version of the framework, 1.0.3, will include a few new features including a much needed "Auto Upgrade" function.
-
Auto Upgrading
To make everyone's life easier, we're adding automatic theme and framework version checks that will prompt you to upgrade if you are running an older version of either. This will hopefully mitigate any future issues and help to keep everyone up-to-date with the latest and greatest.
If you'd like to be a beta tester for version 1.0.3 of the framework just post below and we'll get in contact with you.
Quick Preview – Themify Customization
Both Nick and I haven't had a chance, until now, to sit down and go over some of the great features with the community in a more interactive way. I'll be posting periodical tutorials on how to customize your Themify theme over the next few weeks and get down and dirty with some of the cool features we have.
For now, I've put together a simple video to show you the basics of styling your theme. There is a lot of features I didn't touch on in this video but will soon.

Product Tour
We've got a couple emails regarding our themes. Some people are confused about what we're doing. Some seem to think we sell just software. The fact is we build premium themes that are built on a framework that works with WordPress. So, in light of this confusion, we've decided to give a tour of our themes and their functionality that will hopefully give everyone a better understanding.
What Comes in a Theme Package?
Our WordPress themes come with a framework and a set of custom widgets that are custom built by us. The framework & widgets are additional tools we use cooperatively with the packaged theme. These tools help you to customize the functionality and appearance of the theme without touching any code.
